Kheuchis

Kheu'chi is an archaic term used to describe a nomadic ethnic group living in the mountainous regions of remote Central Asia. Historically, these individuals were often encountered by early explorers and traders traveling along the Silk Road.

Details about the kheu'chi people's origins, language, and culture are limited. It is believed they were initially a divided group, splitting into various smaller factions and seeking refuge in the remote and inaccessible mountain terrain. Their languages might have been mutually intelligible dialects, often belonging to the Turkic or Mongolian language families, though extensive research is still needed to confirm this theory.

Traditionally, the kheu'chi were skilled herders and practiced transhumant pastoralism. They raised a variety of livestock, including sheep, goats, yaks, and horses. Their diet consisted primarily of meat, dairy products, and limited grain intake due to the harsh and inhospitable environment in which they lived. Seasonal migrations were essential to their survival, as they sought to exploit different pastures and water resources.

Not much is known about the social and political structures of the kheu'chi. However, their anarchy and lack of a centralized authority led to territorial conflicts and raids on neighboring tribes. This made interactions between European explorers and the kheu'chi particularly contentious, characterized by spasmodic outbursts of violence and frantic outbursts of hospitality.

Despite the remnants of their culture still being observable in photographs and oral records, the kheu'chi population has significantly diminished since the mid-20th century. With their nomadic traditions increasingly being suppressed by local authorities and urbanization, it is expected that their language and customs will continue to become further vanished from the historical record.
