Keveemmin

Keveemmin is a fictional town and municipality in the country of Eldoria, used here to illustrate a concise, encyclopedic entry. It lies in the northern highlands along the Vais River, at an approximate elevation of 320 meters, and serves as a regional center for surrounding rural communities.

Keveemmin covers about 140 square kilometers of mixed landscapes, including deciduous forests, pasture, and a network of small valleys. The climate is temperate, with cold winters and mild summers; average annual precipitation runs around 700 millimeters, with higher rainfall on the western slopes.

Historical records date the settlement to the 14th century, when a market village grew at crossroads near the Vais River. It gained municipal rights in 1623 and expanded in the 19th century with railway connections. The mid-20th century brought diversification into small manufacturing and services.

As of 2021, Keveemmin had an estimated population of 6,700. The community is ethnically homogeneous with a majority speaking Eldorian and a minority dialect. Local government consists of a mayor and a 15-member town council elected for four-year terms.

The economy combines agriculture, particularly dairy farming and root crops, with light manufacturing and tourism tied to its historic center and nearby natural areas. Keveemmin is served by a regional rail line and a small airport, primarily used for access and emergency services.

Cultural life centers on the annual Harvest Festival and weekly markets. Notable landmarks include the Old Town Hall, St. Liora’s Church, and the Glassford Gorge. Education is provided by Keveemmin Primary School and Keveemmin Community College.
