Kettahelisõelmed

Kettahelisõelmed, also known as disc barrow or disc harrow, is an agricultural implement used to cultivate soil. It is a versatile tool designed to break up clods of soil, level the ground, and incorporate crop residues or weeds into the soil. The implement consists of multiple concave metal discs mounted on a frame. These discs rotate as the implement is pulled across the field, cutting into the soil and throwing it aside.

The discs are typically arranged in two gangs, with the front gang angled to cut into the soil and the rear gang angled in the opposite direction to further break up and level the soil. The angle of the disc gangs can often be adjusted to control the depth and intensity of the cultivation. Kettahelisõelmed are commonly used after plowing to prepare a seedbed or to break up soil that has become compacted. They can also be used for disking in cover crops or for managing stubble after harvest.

Different types of kettahelisõelmed exist, varying in size, weight, and the configuration of their discs. Some are designed for light-duty work, while others are heavy-duty implements intended for breaking up tough, unplowed soil. The width of the implement also varies, affecting the area that can be covered in a single pass and the power required to pull it.
