Keski-Suomen, or Central Finland, is a region of Finland located in the western-central part of the country. It is one of Finland's 19 regions. The regional capital and largest city is Jyväskylä. The region has a population of about 250,000 and covers a landscape dominated by lakeland scenery with numerous lakes and forests.

The regional administration is carried out by the Keski-Suomen maakunta (regional council), which coordinates regional planning, education, transport, and social and health services in cooperation with its municipalities. The economy is diverse, with strong emphasis on education and research, forestry, and manufacturing. The University of Jyväskylä is a major employer and driver of innovation, and the region benefits from tourism related to outdoor recreation, summer lakeside activities, and winter sports.

Culture and notable sites: Jyväskylä is known for its cultural life and for work by the architect Alvar Aalto in the city, including buildings such as the City Library. The region hosts museums and festivals and serves as a hub for higher education in central Finland.

Municipal composition: The region comprises several municipalities, including Jyväskylä, Jämsä, Äänekoski, Laukaa, Keuruu, Saarijärvi, Hankasalmi, Petäjävesi and others. The varied urban and rural communities contribute to a mix of services, industry, and nature-based tourism across Central Finland.
