Kertakirjautumisjärjestelmään, commonly known as Single Sign-On (SSO), is an authentication scheme that allows a user to log in with a single ID and password to any of several related, yet independent, software systems. This eliminates the need for users to log in multiple times for different services, enhancing user experience and security.

SSO systems typically involve a trusted identity provider (IdP) that authenticates the user. Once authenticated, the IdP issues a security token, which is then used by other relying parties (service providers or RPs) to grant access to their resources without requiring a separate login. This process can be facilitated through various protocols such as SAML (Security Assertion Markup Language), OAuth, or OpenID Connect.
