Kengroqian is a fictional mineral described in speculative geology and science fiction worldbuilding. In in-universe sources, it is said to form in ultra-high-temperature hydrothermal veins within metamorphosed rocks and to be named after a fictional region and explorer known as Kengroq.

Physically, Kengroqian is described as dense and translucent with a vitreous to resinous luster. Colors are typically pale green to deep blue, and it is said to exhibit strong birefringence and pleochroism. Some accounts assign trace rare-earth elements to its composition, proposing an aluminosilicate-like framework, though exact formulas vary by source. It is often depicted as luminescent under ultraviolet light.

Occurrence and formation are placed in metasomatic settings associated with subduction-zone geology in the imagined world. In these stories, Kengroqian is found in the fictional Kengroq Formation, usually alongside minerals such as garnet and beryl.

Uses and cultural significance in the fiction include valuation as a gemstone for ornamentation. Some narratives describe functional properties such as piezoelectricity or luminescence that enable decorative or technological applications within the story’s society. The mineral’s rarity and striking appearance contribute to its status among collectors and traders in the imagined economy.
