Kehruuvärjäystä

Kehruuvärjäystä, also known as yarn dyeing, is a dyeing technique where yarn is dyed before it is woven or knitted into fabric. This method allows for intricate color patterns and designs that are difficult or impossible to achieve through piece dyeing, where the fabric is dyed after it is made. Kehruuvärjäystä is a traditional craft that has been practiced for centuries in various cultures.

The process typically involves winding yarn onto spools or skeins. These are then immersed in a dye bath, which can contain natural or synthetic dyes. The temperature, duration of immersion, and concentration of the dye all affect the final color and its intensity. After dyeing, the yarn is rinsed and dried.
