Keelenalüüsi
Keelenalüüsi refers to a traditional Estonian folk practice involving the use of language and sound to influence or heal individuals, objects, or the environment. The term combines *keele* (language) and *nalüüsi* (a term related to incantation or magical utterance), reflecting its roots in Estonian folk magic and shamanistic traditions. Practitioners, often referred to as *keelenõiad* (literally "language-women"), employed specific words, chants, and rituals to ward off evil spirits, ensure fertility, or protect livestock and crops.
The practice was deeply tied to Estonian animistic beliefs, where language was considered a powerful force
While keelenalüüsi was once widespread in rural Estonia, its practice declined with the spread of Christianity
