Kavitrayas
Kavitrayas refers to a trio of prominent Telugu poets who contributed significantly to the classical literature of Andhra Pradesh. These poets are Nannaya, Tikkana, and Errana. Their collective work is primarily known for translating and adapting the Sanskrit epic Mahabharata into Telugu. This monumental undertaking not only preserved the epic for Telugu speakers but also established a rich tradition of Telugu poetry and prose.
Nannaya, considered the Adikavi (first poet), initiated the translation of the Mahabharata in the 11th century.
Tikkana, who lived in the 13th century, continued the translation, completing a significant portion of the epic.
