Kaukasusgebiet

The Kaukasusgebiet, or Caucasus region, is a geographical area situated between the Black Sea and the Caspian Sea. It is bordered by Russia to the north and Iran to the south. This region is renowned for its diverse mountain ranges, most notably the Greater Caucasus and the Lesser Caucasus. The highest peak in the Caucasus is Mount Elbrus, which is also the highest point in Europe.

The Kaukasusgebiet is characterized by its significant ethnic and linguistic diversity. Numerous distinct peoples inhabit the area, including Georgians, Armenians, Azerbaijanis, Chechens, Dagestanis, Ossetians, and many others.
