Kasgar is a fictional city in the imagined world of Verdara. It is the capital of the coastal province of Lyria and serves as a regional center for governance, commerce, and culture.

Kasgar sits on a natural harbor at the mouth of the Kas River, with a crescent shoreline and nearby hills. The climate is temperate, with wet winters and warm summers.

Founded as a medieval trading post, Kasgar grew on maritime commerce and later integrated into Verdara's state system. In recent decades it expanded as a logistics hub and industrial town while preserving a historic core.

The latest estimates place Kasgar's population around 360,000. The city is ethnically diverse, with a Kasgari-speaking community alongside Verdaran-speaking residents, and a range of religious communities.

Key sectors include port services, fishing, light manufacturing, and tourism. The harbor supports cargo operations, passenger ferries, and regional trade.

Kasgar uses a mayor–council system. The City Council enacts policy, while an appointed administrator handles day-to-day affairs. The urban area is divided into districts for services.
