Karheapinnat, also known as *Kärpinnat* in Finnish, refers to a traditional Finnish folk belief and superstition surrounding moths, particularly the idea that certain moths could be harmful or even malevolent. This belief stems from a blend of folklore, practical observations, and cultural interpretations of insects.

In Finnish folklore, some moths were thought to be associated with misfortune, illness, or even supernatural forces.
