Karbanionivälineitä, often translated as carbani-on tools or reagents, refers to compounds that can serve as sources of a carbanion, a negatively charged species with a carbon atom bearing a lone pair of electrons and a negative formal charge. These species are highly nucleophilic and basic, making them valuable in organic synthesis for forming new carbon-carbon bonds and introducing various functional groups.

Common examples of karbanionivälineitä include organometallic reagents such as Grignard reagents (RMgX) and organolithium reagents (RLi). These compounds are typically prepared by reacting alkyl or aryl halides with reactive metals like magnesium or lithium.
