Kantajaöljy
Kantajaöljy, also known as carrier oil or base oil, is a vegetable oil used to dilute potent essential oils before they are applied to the skin. Unlike essential oils, which are highly concentrated and volatile aromatic compounds extracted from plants, carrier oils are typically fatty and less volatile. Their primary function is to safely deliver essential oils to the skin, reducing the risk of irritation or adverse reactions. They also help to moisturize and nourish the skin, and can enhance the absorption of the essential oil.
Common examples of carrier oils include coconut oil, jojoba oil, almond oil, grapeseed oil, and olive oil.
