Kansspelautoriteit, often abbreviated as KSa, is the Dutch national regulator for gambling and gaming. It operates as an independent administrative authority within the Dutch government and was established to safeguard players, ensure fair and responsible gambling, and combat illegal offerings. The authority oversees both land-based and online activities, with a focus on consumer protection, integrity of games, and preventing abuse such as money laundering and underage gambling.

Its main tasks include licensing and supervision of games of chance and betting, enforcing compliance with the applicable laws, and ensuring advertising and marketing of gambling products are responsible and not misleading. Since the introduction of the remote gambling framework, the KSa also grants licenses to operators offering online gambling services and monitors their ongoing compliance with conditions designed to protect players and maintain market integrity. In addition to licensing, the authority conducts investigations, imposes sanctions, and can revoke licenses or impose fines for violations.

The KSa works to prevent problem gambling by providing information, promoting responsible gaming tools, and supporting prevention programs. It collaborates with other government agencies, financial authorities, and international regulators to combat illegal operators and cross-border risks. The authority also publishes reports, guidance, and consumer information to help players make informed choices and to raise awareness about safe gambling practices.
