Kampusten, also known as Kampung Tenun, is a traditional weaving technique originating from the Minangkabau ethnic group of West Sumatra, Indonesia. The term "kampusten" translates to "weaving in the village," reflecting the communal nature of the craft. This technique involves the use of a simple loom called a "tali," which is operated by a single weaver. The loom is typically made of bamboo or wood and consists of a horizontal beam with a series of pegs or hooks that hold the warp threads.
