Kalciumoxalátok

Kalciumoxalátok are chemical compounds formed by the reaction of calcium ions with oxalate ions. These are naturally occurring salts that can be found in various plants, such as rhubarb, spinach, and beets. In the human body, calcium oxalate crystals are a common component of kidney stones. Formation of these stones is often linked to dietary factors, such as high intake of oxalates and insufficient calcium consumption, as well as dehydration and certain medical conditions. The appearance of calcium oxalate crystals can vary, with the dihydrate form typically presenting as envelope-shaped crystals and the monohydrate form as dumbbell or needle-shaped crystals. While present in many healthy foods, excessive consumption of high-oxalate foods can contribute to stone formation in susceptible individuals. Medical management for calcium oxalate kidney stones often involves increasing fluid intake, dietary modifications, and in some cases, medication.
