Kaktusowate

Kaktusowate is the Polish term for the plant family Cactaceae. This family comprises succulent plants renowned for their distinctive appearance, often characterized by spines and a fleshy, water-storing stem. Kaktusowate are native primarily to the Americas, ranging from Patagonia in the south to parts of western Canada in the north. They exhibit a remarkable diversity of forms, from small, globular species to tall, columnar cacti, and even sprawling, epiphytic varieties.

The most recognizable feature of kaktusowate is their spines, which are modified leaves that serve multiple purposes, including defense against herbivores, protection from intense sunlight, and even as a means to collect dew.
