Kaiutinkotelo, often referred to as a speaker enclosure or cabinet, is the housing for a loudspeaker driver. Its primary functions are to support the driver and to acoustically influence its performance. The design of the kaiutinkotelo is critical for achieving desired sound reproduction.

Different types of kaiutinkotelo exist, each with unique acoustic characteristics. Sealed enclosures, also known as acoustic suspension designs, are airtight and are designed to control the back wave of the driver. Ported or bass-reflex enclosures incorporate a port or tube that allows the back wave to exit, reinforcing low frequencies. Other designs include transmission line, horn-loaded, and passive radiator enclosures, each offering specific advantages for different applications.

The density, rigidity, and damping properties of the material affect how well the enclosure minimizes unwanted resonances and vibrations, which can color the sound. The volume of the kaiutinkotelo is a crucial parameter that must be matched to the specific loudspeaker driver's Thiele-Small parameters to optimize its frequency response, especially in the bass region. An improperly designed or constructed kaiutinkotelo can lead to poor sound quality, distortion, and reduced efficiency. Therefore, the kaiutinkotelo is an integral component of a loudspeaker system, as important as the driver itself.
