Kaioshin

Kaioshin, also known as the Supreme Kais, are the divine beings who oversee the universes in the Dragon Ball franchise. They are the highest-ranking deities in existence, responsible for the creation and maintenance of the cosmos. There are typically five Kaioshin for each universe, representing different aspects of existence, with one designated as the Grand Kaioshin.

Kaioshin possess immense power, far exceeding that of lesser Kais and most mortal beings. They can manipulate life force, telekinetically move objects, and communicate telepathically. While generally peaceful and devoted to their duties, they are also capable of immense destruction when provoked. Their primary role is to ensure balance in the universe, preventing any single entity from becoming too powerful and disrupting the natural order. They also serve as advisors to Beerus, the God of Destruction, guiding his actions and preventing him from destroying planets unnecessarily.

The Kaioshin reside in the Sacred World of the Kai, a celestial realm separate from the mortal plane. This world is depicted as a serene and beautiful place, reflecting their divine nature. Despite their power, Kaioshin are not omnipotent and can be harmed or even killed by powerful beings. Their existence is intrinsically linked to the well-being of their respective universes; if a Kaioshin dies, their corresponding God of Destruction also perishes. This connection underscores their vital role in maintaining cosmic stability.
