Beerus

Beerus, also known as Lord Beerus, is a fictional character in the Dragon Ball media franchise. He is the God of Destruction of Universe 7, one of the twelve universes. Created by Akira Toriyama, Beerus first appears in the 2013 feature Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods and later features prominently in Dragon Ball Super and related manga chapters.

As a God of Destruction, Beerus’s role is to maintain cosmic balance by destroying dangerous threats and stabilizing civilizations when necessary. He is accompanied by his angel attendant Whis, who acts as mentor and guide. Beerus is an ancient and extraordinarily powerful being, often showing a capricious, easily bored personality and a preference for fine cuisine and leisure, tempered by a strict respect for strength when challenged.

Beerus wields vast energy manipulation abilities and is capable of erasing targets from existence using the Hakai technique. He can fly, project destructive energy, and display combat prowess far above typical mortals. Although he does not transform into a Super Saiyan, his power is depicted as among the top tiers of his universe and can escalate with motivation or necessity.

In the series, Beerus interacts with Goku, Vegeta, and the other Z-Fighters, and he maintains a rivalry with Champa, the God of Destruction of Universe 6. He appears across films and the Dragon Ball Super anime, contributing to major story arcs such as the Tournament of Power and the ongoing exploration of cosmic balance. Beerus has become one of the franchise’s most recognizable figures, noted for both his fearsome authority and his occasional comic demeanor.
