Kaibling

Kaibling is a mountain in Styria, Austria, part of the Schladminger Tauern range. It reaches an elevation of 2,040 meters (6,693 feet) above sea level. The mountain is a popular destination for hiking and skiing. Its name is believed to derive from the Slovenian word "kobilica," meaning a type of grass or herb.

The Kaibling ski area is one of the four interconnected resorts that form the Ski amadé region, Austria's largest skiing network. It offers a variety of slopes suitable for different skill levels, from beginner-friendly runs to challenging black pistes. During the summer months, the mountain is a hub for outdoor activities such as mountain biking and hiking. Several marked trails lead to the summit, providing panoramic views of the surrounding Dachstein massif and the Enns Valley.

The summit area features a mountain restaurant and viewing platforms, making it a common spot for visitors to rest and admire the landscape. The region's natural beauty and recreational opportunities contribute significantly to the local tourism industry. Kaibling is accessible by cable car for much of the year, facilitating access for a wide range of visitors.
