Kaasuttamisena

This syngas is primarily composed of hydrogen (H2) and carbon monoxide (CO), with smaller amounts of other gases like carbon dioxide (CO2) and methane (CH4).

The gasification process typically occurs at high temperatures, usually between 700°C and 1500°C, and under controlled oxygen or steam conditions. Unlike combustion, which aims for complete burning, gasification involves incomplete oxidation. This controlled environment allows for the breakdown of complex organic molecules into simpler gaseous compounds.

The resulting syngas is a versatile energy carrier and a valuable feedstock for various industrial applications. It can be used to generate electricity through gas turbines or internal combustion engines, or it can be further processed to produce liquid fuels like methanol and synthetic diesel via Fischer-Tropsch synthesis. Syngas is also a crucial intermediate in the production of chemicals such as ammonia and hydrogen.

The advantages of gasification include its ability to convert a wide range of feedstocks, including waste materials that might otherwise end up in landfills. It can also offer a cleaner alternative to direct combustion, as pollutants can be more effectively removed from the syngas before it is used.
