Jäähdytystuuletin

A jäähdytystuuletin, which translates to "cooling fan" in English, is a mechanical device used to increase the rate of cooling of a component by moving air. These fans are commonly found in electronic devices such as computers, servers, and gaming consoles, where they play a crucial role in dissipating heat generated by internal components like the CPU, GPU, and power supply. Without adequate cooling, these components can overheat, leading to performance degradation, system instability, or even permanent damage.

Jäähdytystuuletin typically consist of a motor that drives a set of blades. As the blades rotate, they create airflow that passes over a heat-generating component or a heatsink attached to it. This airflow removes heat from the component and carries it away, thereby lowering its operating temperature. The size, shape, and speed of the fan's blades, as well as the fan's overall design and placement, are engineered to optimize airflow and cooling efficiency for specific applications.

In addition to electronics, cooling fans are also utilized in automotive applications, such as in radiators to cool the engine coolant, and in industrial settings for various machinery and processes that generate heat. The principle remains the same: to facilitate heat transfer and maintain optimal operating temperatures for equipment. Different types of cooling fans exist, including axial fans, centrifugal fans (also known as blowers), and crossflow fans, each suited for different airflow and pressure requirements.
