Jäljefossiilidega, meaning trace fossils in Estonian, are geological records of past biological activity that are not body fossils themselves. These fossils provide invaluable insights into the behavior, locomotion, feeding, and resting patterns of ancient organisms. Unlike body fossils which preserve the actual remains of an organism, trace fossils preserve the evidence left behind by an organism's interaction with its environment.
