Juotosvirhe

Juotosvirhe refers to an error or defect that occurs during the soldering process, typically in electronics manufacturing or repair. These errors can lead to unreliable connections, intermittent circuit operation, or complete device failure. Common types of juotosvirhe include cold joints, which are caused by insufficient heat and result in a dull, granular solder appearance, creating a poor electrical connection. Solder bridges are another frequent issue, where unintended connections form between adjacent solder pads or component leads, potentially shorting out parts of the circuit.

Other juotosvirhe include insufficient solder, where there isn't enough solder to create a strong mechanical and electrical bond. Conversely, excessive solder can also be problematic, leading to potential bridges or interfering with the proper seating of components. Tombstoning occurs when a surface-mount component lifts on one end, resembling a tombstone, often due to uneven heating or solder paste application. Contamination of the solder joint, whether from flux residue, dirt, or oxidation, can also degrade the connection's integrity.
