Julii
Julii, or Iulii in Latin, denotes members of the Julia gens, one of Rome’s oldest and most influential patrician families. Throughout the Republic and into the Empire, the Julii held high offices, commanded armies, and produced figures who shaped Roman politics and culture. The gens also gave rise to the imperial line later called the Julio-Claudian dynasty, which combined lines from the Julii and the Claudii.
