Iulii
The Iulii (Latin: Iulii; feminine Iulia) were a prominent Roman gens bearing the nomen Iulius. The name appears in both patrician and plebeian contexts, and the family produced many of Rome’s leading magistrates, generals, and political figures from the late Republic into the Imperial period. The Caesares, a notable patrician branch of the Iulii, gave rise to the well-known line associated with Julius Caesar.
