JonAliris

JonAliris is an emerging artist and illustrator based in London, known for combining digital and hand‑drawn techniques to create intricate, surreal landscapes. Born in 1994 as Jonathon Alir, he adopted the artistic moniker JonAliris after an early online project that mixed his two names. His work frequently features fragmented perspectives, layered textures, and a muted color palette that evokes a dreamlike atmosphere.

Educated at Central Saint Martins, JonAliris earned his Bachelor of Arts in Illustration in 2017. During his studies he experimented with mixed media, leading to his signature process of overlaying scanned hand sketches with 3D modeling software. His graduation exhibition, “Woven Realities,” attracted attention from several contemporary art critics and was featured in the London Review of Art.

JonAliris has contributed illustrations to publications such as The Guardian, Vice, and Wired. He also collaborates with fashion houses, providing print designs for limited‑edition collections. In 2021, he was commissioned to produce a series of public murals in the East London borough of Hackney, which were later highlighted by Art London Magazine as a standout example of community art.

The artist’s preferred themes include memory, displacement, and the intersection between natural and technological worlds. His recent series, “Circuitry of Dreams,” explores the convergence of neural networks and botanical motifs, underscoring his interest in emerging artificial intelligence technologies.
