Johdotuslämpömittari

Johdotuslämpömittari, known in English as a wire temperature sensor or thermocouple wire, is a type of temperature sensing device that is integrated into a wire or cable. Instead of a separate sensor head, the sensing element is directly incorporated into the conductors of the wire itself. This construction allows for more flexible placement and easier integration into existing electrical systems or tight spaces where a traditional sensor might not fit.

These sensors typically consist of two dissimilar metal conductors, similar to a standard thermocouple, but are encased within an insulating and protective sheath. The junction of these dissimilar metals at a specific point along the wire acts as the temperature-sensitive element. The voltage generated at this junction is proportional to the temperature at that point. This voltage is then transmitted through the wire to a measuring instrument, which converts it into a temperature reading.

Johdotuslämpömittarit are often used in applications where monitoring the temperature of electrical components or connections is crucial for safety and performance. Examples include monitoring the temperature of motor windings, transformer coils, or electrical connectors. Their flexible nature also makes them suitable for use in appliances, industrial machinery, and automotive applications. The specific materials used for the conductors and sheath determine the sensor's temperature range, accuracy, and resistance to environmental factors like moisture or chemicals.
