Jelsum

Jelsum is a village in the municipality of Leeuwarden in the province of Friesland, Netherlands. It is situated in the north of the province, approximately 6 kilometers east of the city of Leeuwarden. The village is located on a terp, a man-made mound constructed for protection against flooding, a characteristic feature of the Frisian landscape.
