Japheth
Japheth is a figure in the Hebrew Bible, described as one of Noah’s three sons who survived the Flood. In the Genesis narrative, he is mentioned alongside his brothers Shem and Ham, and God’s blessing on them is often cited in discussions of the postdiluvian world. In Genesis 9:27, it is stated that God shall enlarge Japheth and let him dwell in the tents of Shem, a line that has been interpreted in various ways in later tradition.
