JEITA

JEITA, officially the Japan Electronics and Information Technology Industries Association, is a major Japanese trade association that represents manufacturers and other stakeholders in the electronics and information technology sectors. Its mission is to promote the development, standardization, and diffusion of electronics and IT technologies in Japan and internationally, and to support a competitive and innovative industry environment. In Japanese it is known as Nihon denshi jōhō gijutsu sangyō kyōkai.

The association brings together companies across consumer electronics, components, devices, and IT services. It serves as a platform for industry-wide dialogue with government, regulators, and other stakeholders, and it coordinates research, market analysis, and the development of technical guidance and standards. JEITA also oversees conformity assessment programs and provides resources to help member firms meet regulatory requirements and market needs.

JEITA is known for its involvement in standardization, including safety, reliability, performance, and environmental standards for electronics and batteries. It develops testing methods, guidelines, and interoperability specifications that are used by member companies and cited in regulatory contexts.
