Itsukushima
Itsukushima is a small island located in the Hiroshima Bay, Japan, renowned for its iconic Itsukushima Shrine, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The island is most famous for its "floating" torii gate, a vermillion structure that appears to stand on the water at high tide. This Shinto shrine, dedicated to the three daughters of the god Susanoo-no-Mikoto, dates back to the 6th century, though its current structures were built in the 12th century. The shrine complex is characterized by its unique architecture, with buildings constructed over the water on pillars, creating a striking visual effect that changes with the tides.
Beyond the shrine, Itsukushima offers natural beauty with forested mountains and scenic hiking trails. The island
