Ishlashning

Ishlashning is a noun form in Uzbek that derives from the verb ishlash, meaning to work or to operate. The term conveys the act or process of operating a device, system, or procedure. In usage, ishlashning functions as a nominal phrase that can be linked to other words to describe how something operates, its quality, reliability, or performance.

Morphology and usage: Ishlashning is created by taking the verb ishlash and adding the suffix -ning, which marks a genitive or possessive relation in Uzbek. This allows phrases like kompyuterning ishlashining barqarorligi (the stability of the computer’s operation) or mashinaning ishlashining tezligi (the speed of the machine’s operation). The form is commonly found in formal, technical, and analytical writing, where the focus is on the operation itself rather than on the agent performing it. It can be complemented by adjectives or other nouns such as barqarorligi (stability), tezligi (speed), xavfsizligi (safety).

Examples and nuance: The phrase ushbu qurilmaning ishlashining xavfsizligi sanoat standartlariga mos keladi translates to “the safety of this device’s operation complies with industry standards.” Another example is mashinaning ishlashining barqarorligi tizimning doimiy ishlashiga ta’sir qiladi, meaning “the stability of the machine’s operation affects the system’s continuous functioning.” Ishlashning is typically used in contexts that analyze, compare, or specify characteristics of how something operates, rather than simply describing action.
