Intratorácica

Intratorácica is an adjective referring to structures, conditions, or processes located within the thoracic cavity, the space enclosed by the rib cage and the diaphragm. The thorax houses the mediastinum, both pleural cavities, the lungs, the pericardial sac, portions of the trachea and esophagus, major vessels, and the thymus in some individuals. The term is used in Portuguese, Spanish, and related medical literature to distinguish intrathoracic from extrathoracic (outside the chest) structures.
