Installerat

Installerat is the past participle form of the Swedish verb installera (to install). It functions as an adjective or participle and denotes that something has been installed. In practice it appears in various tenses with auxiliary verbs, such as har installerat (have installed) or hade installerat (had installed), and it can also be used in determiner-adjective phrases to describe a noun as having undergone installation.

Grammatical notes: installerat is typically used with neuter singular or as a base form in compound tenses, while installerad is the feminine or common-gender form, and installerade is the plural form (for those agreeing in gender or number). In passive or descriptive phrases you may also encounter forms like den installerade programvaran or den installerade konfigurationen, where the participle agrees with the noun. The root verb installera comes from the same domain as installation and installationen, and installerat is a standard Swedish construction for indicating completion of an installation process.

Usage: The term is common in computing, hardware, and system setup. Examples include “Programvaran är installerad,” meaning the software has been installed; “Vi har installerat uppdateringen,” meaning we have installed the update; and “Den installerade baskonfigurationen används som utgångspunkt,” meaning the installed baseline configuration is used as a starting point. Outside technical contexts, installerat can describe any object or setup that has undergone installation, such as furniture, safety devices, or network configurations.
