Innerskiktet

Innerskiktet, translated as the inner layer, is a descriptive term used in Swedish to refer to the innermost layer within a multi-layered structure. It is not a fixed technical term with a single definition, but rather a generic label that may vary by field. The word combines in to mean inner and skiktet means the layer, and it is used across disciplines to name the layer closest to the center or interior of an object or system.

In geology and earth science, innerskiktet can denote the deepest or most interior layer within a stratified body, such as the innermost layer of a rock sequence, or the inner portion of a composite material when describing layered structures.
