Inlandsüberweisung is the German term for a domestic bank transfer within Germany. It is a common method for moving funds between accounts held by different individuals or businesses at German banks. The process typically involves the payer initiating the transfer through their bank's online banking portal, mobile app, or by visiting a branch to fill out a paper form. Key information required for an Inlandsüberweisung includes the recipient's full name, their International Bank Account Number (IBAN), and the amount to be transferred. The bank then debits the payer's account and credits the recipient's account.

These transfers are generally processed within one business day, especially if initiated during banking hours. In cases where a transfer is initiated after the cut-off time or on a weekend or public holiday, it will be processed on the next business day. The European Union's SEPA (Single Euro Payments Area) framework has standardized such transfers, meaning an Inlandsüberweisung within Germany closely resembles a SEPA credit transfer to another Eurozone country in terms of format and processing speed. Fees for Inlandsüberweisungen are often minimal or non-existent for standard online transfers, though some banks may charge for urgent transfers or those initiated via paper forms.
