Induktiosilmukoilla, known in English as induction loops or induction loops, are a technology used for detecting vehicles. They consist of a wire coil embedded in or laid on the road surface, typically in a rectangular shape. When a vehicle, which is a conductive object, passes over the loop, it alters the magnetic field generated by the current flowing through the coil. This alteration induces a voltage in the coil, which can be detected by a connected control unit.
