IgAdefektit refers to a group of primary immunodeficiency disorders characterized by low levels of immunoglobulin A (IgA) in the blood and/or secretions. Selective IgA deficiency is the most common form, where only IgA is deficient, while other immunoglobulin levels remain normal. This condition is often asymptomatic, but some individuals may experience recurrent infections, particularly of the respiratory and gastrointestinal tracts. Allergic conditions and autoimmune disorders are also more frequently observed in those with IgA deficiency.
