Idolize
Idolize is a verb meaning to regard with intense or excessive admiration, adoration, or worship; to elevate someone or something to the status of an idol. The term can be used neutrally to describe high admiration, or negatively to imply an unhealthy or irrational devotion. It can apply to people—such as celebrities, political figures, or mentors—as well as to objects, ideas, or ideals that are revered beyond proportion.
