Identitarians

Identitarianism is a far-right political movement that emerged in Europe in the early 21st century. Its core tenet is the belief that European peoples, defined by their perceived shared ancestry and culture, are facing an existential threat from immigration and the erosion of their identity. Identitarians advocate for the preservation of what they consider to be European heritage and culture, often through the promotion of ethno-nationalism and anti-immigration policies.

The movement often emphasizes the concept of "ethnopluralism," which they interpret as the need for distinct ethnic groups to live separately to preserve their unique identities and cultures. This is frequently framed as a rejection of multiculturalism, which they view as leading to assimilation and the loss of European identity. Identitarians are critical of what they call "cultural Marxism" and globalism, seeing them as forces undermining traditional European values and social structures.

While some identitarians disavow racism, their rhetoric and focus on ethnic purity and separation have led to accusations of racism and white supremacy from critics and anti-racist organizations. The movement has been active in various European countries, utilizing social media and public demonstrations to spread its message. Analysis of their ideology often highlights a strong anti-immigrant stance and a desire for a homogenous European society.
