IUPAClike

However, in certain contexts, particularly in specialized fields or within specific software or databases, alternative naming conventions might be employed. These "IUPAC-like" systems often adapt IUPAC principles to simplify naming, accommodate specific data structures, or address limitations of the official IUPAC system for particular applications. For example, in cheminformatics, simplified or canonical naming schemes might be used for database searching or molecular representation, which are functionally similar to IUPAC names but may not strictly adhere to all the intricacies of the official rules. These systems aim to provide a unique and unambiguous identifier for chemical substances, much like IUPAC nomenclature, but may prioritize ease of computation or storage over strict chemical structural representation.
