ISOhastighed is a term used in digital photography and videography to refer to the sensitivity of the image sensor to light. It is a standardized measurement, typically represented by an ISO number such as 100, 200, 400, 800, and so on. A lower ISO number indicates a lower sensitivity to light, meaning the sensor requires more light to capture a well-exposed image. Conversely, a higher ISO number signifies greater sensitivity, allowing for proper exposure in dimmer conditions.

Increasing the ISO setting amplifies the signal from the image sensor, making it more responsive to available light. While this is beneficial for shooting in low-light situations without the need for a flash or slower shutter speeds, it comes at a cost.
