ISIS

Isis is a major goddess in ancient Egyptian religion, revered as a goddess of motherhood, magic, and life after death. In the Osiris myth she is the sister and wife of Osiris and the mother of Horus. After Osiris was slain, Isis gathered his scattered body parts and resurrected him symbolically, enabling Horus to claim the throne of Egypt. Her worship spread across the Nile valley and into the Mediterranean world, and she remained influential into Greco-Roman times, where she was identified with other goddesses such as Demeter or Ceres in some periods. Iconography typically depicts Isis with a throne-shaped crown or a solar disk with horns, and she is often shown protecting and nurturing. She was regarded as a protector of the kingdom, a healer, and a patron of magical knowledge and royal power.
