ISAEt

ISAEt, also known as ISAE 3000 (Revised), is an International Standard on Assurance Engagements developed by the International Auditing and Assurance Standards Board (IAASB). It provides a framework for assurance practitioners to perform engagements on information other than historical financial information. This includes a wide range of subject matters, such as prospective financial information, internal controls, sustainability reporting, and compliance with laws and regulations.

The standard is designed to be flexible, allowing practitioners to tailor their approach to the specific engagement. ISAEt requires the practitioner to obtain reasonable assurance that the subject matter is free from material misstatement, whether due to fraud or error. This involves planning the engagement, understanding the subject matter and its related controls, gathering sufficient appropriate evidence, and forming a conclusion.

ISAEt emphasizes the importance of professional skepticism, ethical behavior, and appropriate competence and capabilities of the assurance practitioner. The practitioner's report communicates the objective of the engagement, the criteria used for evaluation, and the practitioner's conclusion. By providing assurance on diverse subject matters, ISAEt aims to enhance the credibility and reliability of non-financial information, thereby supporting decision-making by users.
