IL1n

IL1n is a term that has appeared in some scientific discussions as a provisional symbol for an interleukin-1–related protein. It is not part of the established interleukin-1 (IL-1) cytokine family and is not listed as an official gene symbol by major nomenclature authorities such as HGNC.

Because IL1n is not standardized, there is no consensus on its sequence, tissue distribution, receptor usage, or biological function. In the available literature, references to IL1n are rare and typically cite uncharacterized open reading frames, hypothetical splice variants, or provisional annotations rather than a confirmed cytokine.
