IGCCs
IGCC stands for Integrated Gasification Combined Cycle. It is a coal-fired power generation technology that offers potentially lower emissions compared to conventional coal plants. The process involves gasifying coal at high temperatures and pressures with oxygen and steam to produce a synthetic gas, or syngas. This syngas, primarily composed of carbon monoxide and hydrogen, is then cleaned to remove impurities such as sulfur, nitrogen compounds, and particulate matter.
After cleaning, the syngas is combusted in a gas turbine, which generates electricity. The hot exhaust gases
IGCC technology can capture sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxides more effectively than traditional coal plants, leading
