IFRsäädökset

IFRsäädökset refers to regulations concerning International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) in Sweden. IFRS are a set of accounting standards developed by the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) that are used in many countries around the world. In Sweden, the application of IFRS is primarily governed by the Årsredovisningslag (Annual Accounts Act) and the Lag om Europainstans (EU Takeover Bids Act).

The Årsredovisningslag dictates which companies are required to apply IFRS. Generally, listed companies and companies with public interest, such as financial institutions and insurance companies, must prepare their consolidated financial statements in accordance with IFRS. However, certain smaller companies may also choose to apply IFRS voluntarily.

The purpose of IFRS is to provide a common global language for business affairs so that company accounts are understandable and comparable across international boundaries. This facilitates investment and reduces the cost of capital for companies operating internationally. In Sweden, the adoption of IFRS aims to enhance transparency and comparability of financial information, making it easier for investors and other stakeholders to assess the financial performance and position of Swedish companies.
